[Article] Charzin Introduces Electric Vehicle Overcharge Fire Prevention Technology with Hubject in the U.S.
- Charzin is a company that operates and builds the EVZ platform.
- One-stop charging payment by simply plugging in the EV charging cable
- Setting 90% charging solves the problem of overcharging fire in underground parking lots
Electric vehicle charging platform company Charzin(EVZ), together with Hubject, the world’s largest electric vehicle charging network company, showcased its plug-and-charge (PnC) technology at an exhibition in the United States that is considered the World Electric Vehicle Olympics.
Charzin(EVZ) and Hubject showcased their acceleration-based PnC technology at EVS36, held June 11–14 in Sacramento, California, USA.
Charzin(EVZ) and Hubject’s PnC technology is a one-stop charging and payment service that recognizes the vehicle when the driver connects the electric vehicle charging cable to the vehicle.
In particular, the PnC technology gained more attention by implementing a technology that prevents electric vehicle fires, which have become a recent issue, by setting the charge level to 90%.
EVS36 is the world’s oldest and largest electric vehicle event, held since 1969, and is referred to as the Electric Vehicle Olympics. Organized by the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) and the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA), this year’s EVS36 was the largest to date, with more than 2,200 industry and academic experts participating and more than 400 companies exhibiting. Next year’s event, EVS37, will be held at COEX in Seoul.
Following their participation in the exhibition, Charzin(EVZ) and Hubject will host a PnC showcase in Korea in October, organized by both companies. The October showcase will reveal in detail how PnC technology can be used to prevent electric vehicle fires by setting the charge level to 90% in addition to charging payments.
In July last year, Charzin(EVZ) signed a roaming service agreement with Hubject to use Charzin(EVZ)’s electric vehicle charging card, the EV Zone Card, not only in Korea but also in overseas markets such as Europe and the United States.
“Recently, as the Tesla Supercharger’s NACS (North American Charging Standrad) has become an issue, people are obsessed with the shape of the charging port, but the most important service is PnC, so we expect the demand for it to explode,” said Choi Young-seok, CEO of Charzin. “This exhibition is an opportunity to show that there is a Korean company that has the same level of technology as EVgo, a large US charging operator.”
