Hyundai Oilbank will expand the number of high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles to 200 by 2023.

Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 8th that it will expand the number of charging stations for electric vehicles currently operating from 20 gas stations to 200 by 2023.

Hyundai Oilbank signed a partnership with the owner of the electric vehicle charger manufacturer on the previous day to install high-speed chargers with 100kW or higher at gas stations in the city.

To preempt the growing demand for electric trucks, Hyundai Oilbank plans to set up exclusive charging stations at distribution centers in addition to gas stations, and secure a nationwide network of electric charging stations, including drive-through stores and large convenience stores.

It will diversify its rate system. It will introduce a late-night charging plan for cargo trucks and taxi drivers, and a plan that allows commuting customers to charge quickly without waiting time.

In the long term, it is also planning to release memberships that partner with electric vehicle manufacturers or provide services such as premium car washing, car rental, and light maintenance discounts.

“Although customers prefer fast chargers of 50kW or higher that are fast to charge, it is expected that they will stay at 20% of all chargers in 2025,” said Han Hwan-kyu, head of Hyundai Oilbank’s sales division. “We plan to increase synergy with existing platform businesses such as premium car washing by attracting customers to gas stations.”
