Charzin, an electric vehicle charging platform company, has joined forces with an electric truck manufacturer to develop a fire prevention function for electric vehicles.
Charzin announced that it signed a business agreement with Daechang Motors on the 7th to develop electric vehicle fire prevention functions, plug and charge (PnC), vehicle to grid (V2G), and technology.
Through the agreement, the two companies will expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure and platforms equipped with fire prevention functions. This technology checks the status of the vehicle battery through the PLC power line communication of the fast charger and prevents fires caused by overcharging by charging only up to 95% when charging in underground parking lots.
The two companies will also work together to expand V2G platform services utilizing electric vehicle batteries. V2G is the ability to utilize the remaining power of an electric vehicle battery to supply or sell to others. The electricity tariff for charging electric vehicles can be used to reduce electricity bills based on a progressive system if the vehicle’s electricity is used at home after charging.
Charzin is also preparing to demonstrate V2G in Jeju Island’s designated distributed power special zone, while Daechang Motors is working on implementing a service that works with vehicles.
The two companies will also cooperate to implement a PnC service for electric vehicles. PnC service is a service in which the charger recognizes the vehicle information by simply plugging the charging connector into the charging outlet, and ‘authentication, charging, and payment’ are automatically performed. Charzin, an electric vehicle charging platform company, has been approved for the first temporary permit for charging outlets and the temporary permit for charging sharing in the Jeju Special Economic Zone.
Founded in 2010, Daechang Motors has been producing and selling electric vehicles for 12 years, starting with purely domestic golf carts and Korean yakult ride-on electric carts and now producing small electric trucks. Daechang Motors plans to launch a light-duty cargo vehicle that can replace the Damas.
“Through collaboration with vehicle manufacturer Daechang Motors, we will develop into a ‘mobility & energy platform’ company that implements various services such as PnC and V2G,” said Choi Young-seok, CEO of Charzin.
